Green Fund
This fund was established in 2017 based on a suggestion from Mo Turnbull as a way for the club to reduce its carbon footprint associated with driving.
This idea was well received at the AGM and discussion as to how it should best be implemented, resulted in the motion that the current formula for calculating vehicle running costs for club trips be retained and paid to the trip leader.
The trip
leader shares these funds between the drivers.
Drivers
are under no obligation, but if they choose may donate some or all of their
petrol monies to the Green Fund.
Individual club members can also contribute voluntarily at any time.
The Upper Clutha Tramping Club now maintains this Green Fund to help offset the carbon footprint of travelling to and from our trip destinations.
The fund is donated to Te Kakano Aotearoa trust here in Wanaka to contribute to carbon sequestration through tree planting. Club members often volunteer at planting days arranged by Te Kakano.
Payment direct to the club bank account is the simplest method giving your surname and initial in the reference field and green fund in the code or particulars field.
