Winter Walk - Saturday 5th July - Long Gully

Date: Saturday, 5th July Destination: Long Gully (Tarras end of the Grandview Ridge Track) Meeting Point: Meet at 8:30 am at the lakefront carpark, located just south of the intersection of McDougall Street and the lakefront road. Details: We will carpool to the DOC carpark on Long Gully Road, which is accessed via Jolly Road near Tarras. The walk begins along the valley before ascending in a zigzag up to two transmitter towers (Eastern Hills), near the junction of the Sandy Point tracks. We'll stop for lunch at the towers and return via the same route. Since it's a shorter walk, there's the option of a coffee stop in Tarras on the way back. Difficulty: E1, on a 4WD grade track Stats: Approximately 10 km return, with 545 metres of ascent Transport Cost: $15 Leader: Peter Humphrey ( pahumphrey@gmail.com )
