Date: Saturday 5th September Destination: Eastern Hills Deep Gully Loop Meeting place: meet at 8.30am at the lakefront carpark just south of the intersection of McDougall St with the lakefront road. If anyone wants to go direct or be picked up on route please text Lisa in advance. This track leaves from across the road from the Sandy Point carpark, in the direction of Tarras. We will be walking the loop in an anticlockwise direction - taking a 4WD track to the Grandview Ridge and a poled foot track back down into Deep Gully and the main road . The loop is around 10kms, has 700 metres of elevation gain and takes approximately 3-4 hours. You can add time and distance if you feel like a spin up to some of the aerials on route, to capture a high point. The weather may be drizzly, so bring appropriate gear. We will lunch on the ridge, in the lee of a bank for shelter, and admire the energy of those who do the short climb up to the very attractive ariels on the right. Transport cost: $10 Leader: Lisa Sanderson 021 491 789
